Another ChuNK of land to be sold?
Selling Land that was never meant to be sold!
September of 2025, the Scouts were able to get the area in red, re-zoned as part of a utility overlay. By doing so, the Scouts wanted to insure that Scouting would remain forever in Hernando County and only ONE parcel will be sold.
Fast Forward to June 2026, the Scouts now want to rid the entire North HALF of the camp, shown in Blue.
The land was donated by Mr. Diepolder under the condition that it never be sold for commerical purposes. See his full will in Additional Info.

Back in 1978, Mr DiePolder had a vision for the future, one that included a place in Hernando county for Scouting to thrive for generations to come. It was his wish "for the use and benefit" for BSA. "The lands must never be used in any way that can be deemed commercial nor sold or disposed of in any way, shape or form." It was his wish for scouts to have a "sufficiently large enough to enjoy the great outdoors and the beauties and benefits of nature"
Although a technically during the transfer of the deed did not in cumber the property with these stipulations, it was clear in his will what his donation to BSA was intended for.
