About one of our founders...
Eric Cupps
An avid outdoorsman and former Scout Leader, Eric is the face of #SaveSandHill. Growing up through the Scouting Program, he truly believes in the value of Scouting. He spent many summers as a youth staff member at camp as well as becoming a Cub Master and later Scout Master bringing his Troops to Sand Hill.
Cupps is a former Scout Master and has stepped away from Scouting on his own because of the actions taken by the Greater Tampa Bay Area Scout Council Executive Board and Scout Executive. He has not been a registered Scout since the end of 2024.
Professionally, Eric works in TV Broadcasting behind the scenes at a TV station. He has no influence on news content with his employer, whatsoever.
While Eric is primarily the visable 'face' of #SaveSandHill, many Scouts, Scouters and former staffers support our efforts and actively work behind the scenes
Eric still continues to volunteer with Scouting Groups and Camps through non-profit work. He also donates to local Troops and Packs.
